Leading donors from around the world gather each year at the IFRC secretariate in Geneva, Switzerland to pledge new or renewed funding to the IFRC's Disaster Response Emergency Fund, moving the fund a significant step closer to its strategic ambition of growing IFRC-DREF to 100 million Swiss Francs by 2025.

IFRC-DREF celebrates 45 Years supporting communities before and after disasters.

Celebrating 45 Years of IFRC-DREF: This was the theme of the IFRC-DREF 2024 Pledging Conference as participants reflected on the fund's past, present, and future. Held on 8 November 2024, this year’s pledging conference helped IFRC-DREF make significant strides towards its goal of reaching 100 million Swiss Francs in pledges by 2025.
As of 8 November, the total voluntary contributions towards IFRC-DREF were over 74 million Swiss Francs. With the projected payout from IFRC-DREF Insurance before the end of the year, this is likely to rise to 85 million Swiss Francs. This means IFRC would fully meet its funding target for 2024 and increase its total donations income by 20-percent compared to 2023.
